A stroll through Mahón’s city centre is the best way to get to know the city and discover some of its most emblematic sites. Walk through streets until you reach the Plaza del Príncipe and the Plaza de la Conquista where you’ll find:

• La Iglesia de Santa María: A neo-gothic church with a 19-century spectacular organ that offers concerts throughout the year.
• El Mercado de Pescados. Much more than a market: in addition to fish and fresh, local seafood, you’ll be able to try tapas, wines and local products from Menorca.

Going down the Costa de Ses Voltes, you’ll reach Puerto de Mahón, the second largest port in Europe. The boardwork connects the port to the city; stroll along it to enjoy a panoramic view of the Mediterranean.

Just 20 minutes by car from Ciutadella and 30 minutes from Mahón is Cala Galdana, a family beach with clear water, perfect for spending the morning in the sun. Cala Galdana is also a great place to practise water sports; you can rent kayaks or a paddleboard and visit Cala Mitjana, Cala Macarella and Macarelleta. You can also access Macarella and Macarelleta on foot, have a drink at Cafetería Susy and relax in these calm coves.

There’s nothing more beautiful in Ciutadella than going to the Mirador del Pont d’en Gil to watch the sunset; you can swim around it and watch the incredible sunset. Later, go to the city centre and stroll through the city centre, full of life and perfect for walking around. Go to the Mercado de Artesanía in el Born on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during summer and at night, go down to the Puerto de Ciutadella to have dinner at S’Amarador or El Balear. You’ll be able to enjoy seafood at an unbeatable location.
